— Immunizations and Autism —

Topic definition

The rise in the diagnosis of autism has given rise to many theories as to the cause of the increase. The statement below is an imagined expression of this ongoing discussion

The diagnosis of Autism in children has sky-rocketed in modern times, suggesting an environmental trigger which is causative to the increase. If childhood immunizations contain toxins which cause autism, increased use of immunizations would increase the incidence of autism. We see an increase in autism, therefore immunizations are causing autism.

Explanation

We see an increase in autism, therefore immunizations are causing autism.

At a higher level than the subverted support flag, the whole logical articulation rests on the desire to associate two co-occuring events. This is a cum hoc instance.
